Programme Introduction:

The research in the last two decades on Emotional Intelligence (EI) has answered why some people with intellectual brilliance coupled with good education and experience fails to become capable leaders. The flourishing research in organizational psychology has validated the critical role of emotional intelligence in individual and organizational performance. Therefore, for organizations, recognizing the importance of emotional intelligence is a great starting place. This MDP focuses on developing emotional skills that help empower individuals to function more effectively as a leader.

Programme Objective:

  • To emphasize the relevance of emotional intelligence as an integral component of leadership
  • To understand the role of emotional intelligence in managing interpersonal relationships
  • To learn self-knowledge on emotional intelligence and areas of improvement in EI personal and social competencies for effective leadership
  • To understand the practices that encourage emotional intelligence in workplaces.

  • Understanding the role of emotions at work
  • Assessment of the EI ability/ Identify the areas of improve EI capability

  • EI for effective managerial roles- as a leader and team player.

Programme Methodology:

Programme would be delivered online. The content delivery will include a mixed methods approach involving discussion of relevant frameworks, cases as well as experiential learning through group work and exercises.

The program will be useful to managers in sales, marketing, purchase, and human relations functions in public and private sector. All those who intend to assess and improve upon their emotional intelligence. effectively use conflict resolution styles for the assigned roles and responsibilities, and to improve conflicts resolution capability through technology.

Program Faculty:

Prof. Chitra Khari
Prof. Chitra Khari is an Assistant Professor in the area of Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management at FORE School of Management. She completed her Ph.D. at the Department of Management studies, Indian Institute of Technology (Delhi), in the area of positive organizational scholarship. She has been awarded scholarship for her doctoral studies. She is the recipient of Fetzer scholarship given by MSR division of Academy of Management, US. Prof.Prachi Bhatt
Prof. Prachi Bhatt, Associate Professor in Organization Behavior & Human Resources Management at FORE School of Management. She is Ph.D. and Masters in Human Resource Management (Gold Medalist). She has over 12 years of research and teaching experience. She is Certified in Negotiation Research and Teaching from one of the world's best B-Schools – Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA. She is an active participant in conferences & seminars and has papers to her credit published in National and International refereed journals. Her research experience and corporate association cover projects with Zydus Cadila Healthcare Ltd, Ahmedabad, Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd, Anand, and Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi. She has designed and conducted customized workshops, MDPs for corporate executives in both public and private sector organizations. To name a few- IFCCO, EIL, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, ONGC Videsh Ltd., THDCIL, Idea Cellular Ltd, Apollo Tyres Ltd, De La Rue Cash Processing Solutions India Pvt Ltd, Uttarakhand Power Corp. Prof. Sanghamitra Buddhapriya
Prof. Sanghamitra Buddhapriya is a Professor and the Area Chairperson in the Department of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management at FORE School of Management, New Delhi. She received the University Gold Medal for securing First Class first Position in M.A in Personnel Management and Labour Welfare. She is a PhD from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. She received the Prestigious Shastri-Indo Canadian Faculty Research Fellowship and did her Post- Doctoral research from Mc Master University, Hamilton, Canada. She has more than twenty-three years of experience in teaching, research, training and consulting. Her research interest lies in mentoring relationship, diversity management, and gender issues in management, work-life balance, and stress at work. She has authored two books and published many research articles in referred national and international journals. Prof. Sanghamitra conducts open and in-company management development programmes across level for leading public and private sector organizations like Engineers India Ltd, Powergrid, ONG,C, IOC, OIL NHPC, MMTC, SAIL, THDC, NBCC, LNG Petronet, Sentiss Pharma, ITD Cementation to name a few. She enjoys conducting management development programmes on wide range of topics like leadership, team building, motivation, emotional intelligence, work-life balance, gender sensitivity, mentoring and coaching, interpersonal skills, managerial effectiveness, organizational culture, problem solving and decision making, creativity and innovation.
