Programme Introduction:

I cannot not communicate, I am communicating all the time. When our lips are silent, our body speaks”. The body involuntarily and constantly keeps sending a large number of non-verbal behavioural cues like facial expression, vocalisations, postures, gestures, appearances, etc. which are interpreted by people and given meaning. These transformative non-verbal behaviours such as eye behaviour, touch, the use of personal space, etc. act as important interactional triggers for a change in or between people in a relationship and about 60% to 65% of all meaning created in human encounters, especially face-to-face communication, is attributed to non-verbal cues. Non-verbal cues may increase or negate the impact of verbal messages like for instance when your word do not match or complement your body language, there can be a trust deficit with the person with whom you communicate. However, when your nonverbal indicators match the words you speak, they increase trust with the person with whom you are communicating with. Thus, it becomes imperative on your part to comprehend how people interpret your messages through your non-verbal signs and at the same time help you to learn to read the thoughts of others when they speak. The programme, therefore, aims at helping you become an effective conversationalist who can learn to recognize the depths of this skill that will empower him how to use correct body language that can fortify the ideas and messages that you want to put across to others, and help you build trust and polyphonic relationships with your boss, subordinates, colleagues and clients.
