Background & Experience
He is a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow. He did his post-graduation in Economics from the University of Hyderabad and cleared the UGC- NET/ JRF. He also holds a professional qualification in management accounting from the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India (ICWAI). He has professional experience in entrepreneurship, equity research, government service, research and teaching.
He returned to academics primarily because he was deeply fascinated by the mysterious nature of risk, especially the risk of rare disasters/ catastrophes, and its impact on the formulation and implementation of strategy. In his doctoral thesis he has employed the rare disaster framework, juxtaposed with the concept of spirit of capitalism, to explain several well-known asset pricing puzzles. He has presented his research papers at various national and international conferences in India and abroad. For his doctoral work, he won the Marti Subrahmanyam Award (2010) at IIM Bangalore.
