Special Interest Group- Marketing (SigMa), is linked with Innovation on Campus. The team comprises 6 dynamic students with a natural flair for marketing. SigMa hosts a variety of marketing-related events during the academic year, including inter & intra college competitions, lectures, and workshops.

The academic year is inaugurated with Advishkaar, which spotlights one of the most important elements of the Marketing Mix: Advertising. SigMa hosts their flagship event during Genesis, Impersonate: Think Like A CMO, an inter-college real-life case study competition. UniAd: Be Distinct or Go Extinct, a branding and advertisement-based competition organized by SigMa to cut the edge off from Kotler and case presentations, with an on-the-spot battle of wits and creativity. The final trimester brings about Tipping Point, in which teams develop an STP (Segmentation, Targeting, Positioning) Model for a new product/service under an existing franchise. SigMa also hosts marketing seminars- Melange, wherein prominent marketing executives from the corporate environment are invited to impart their knowledge and experience & interact with the students.

SigMa also hosts workshops on topics such as ‘FMCG Sales and Marketing’ in collaboration with ForeVision & ‘Digital Brand Building’ in collaboration with Kraftshala, intended to impart students with hands-on marketing knowledge.

We seek to bridge the gap between what we learn in the classroom and how it is implemented in real-world circumstances. SigMa encourages you to be ingenious and think outside the box.

Event Description:

  • Melange - An event in which many well-known business executives share their expertise with students to assist them to get insight into the actual corporate world and grow into future leaders.
  • FMCG Scientific Sales & Marketing workshop - A workshop to gain in-depth knowledge and application of Sales concepts both in theory as well as excel from an expert in the FMCG industry.
  • Advishkaar - A competition in which participants link brands/products to movies/TV series/cartoons/web series with thought-provoking and ingenious digital posters.
  • Tipping Point - A competition in which participants have to act as the marketing head of the company and conduct a Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning model of a new product to be introduced or service to be implemented into the market.
  • Digital Marketing & Product Management Workshop - A workshop to learn essential skills of digital marketing and product management
  • Impersonate: Think Like a CMO - An inter-college marketing case-study based competition held at the annual cultural fest of FORE where all the participants have to think like CMOs and come up with different and innovative
