Competency Workshop 1.0: Talent (HiPo) Management

Introduction

HR profession has grown into a myriad of roles and functions. HR professionals are faced with many advances and challenges amid changing environment. Here, knowledge and development of the set of competencies which are highly performance focused, would provide impetus for the young HR professionals to contribute to effective performance in varied contexts of business and industries. It is important to explore the gap, if any, between the required and expected levels of competencies of the young HR managers. The understanding of such set of competencies required to effectively fulfill the expected roles and responsibilities is very important for the entry-level HR Managers. Also, to understand the thrust areas such as success profiles, talent management, HR transformation to be able to plug-in in organisation and its processes better and be able to expedite performance delivery.

Objectives

This is a workshop which using a hybrid i.e., structured and unstructured pedagogy, would help the young HR professional participants:

  • To learn about the changing expectations, roles and responsibilities of entry-level HR Professionals
  • To understand Competencies of entry-level human resource professionals & Discuss the gaps
  • To be able to practically read and use Job Competencies & Competency frameworks/models.
  • To take an overview of talent measurement and management process in firms in order to add further value.
  • To learn more on competencies, and success profiles.

  • Job profile analysis & apply competency-based selection
  • Employee competencies within specific job roles and its link with firm performance

Certificate

After completion of the faculty development program, an e-certificate will be provided to participants.

Pedagogy

Program would be delivered online: 3 days; 4 hours per day
Mainly, participants would gain insights through interaction with industry experts and discussions through activities with them. Also, the program would be entail short-assignments and assessments.

It would also be equally beneficial for those seeking jobs or looking for job switch at entry-level HR in firms, including students in the field of HR. Program Director

Prof. Prachi Bhatt: Professor in Organization Behavior & Human Resources at FORE School of Management. She has a Ph.D. and Masters in Human Resource Management (Gold Medalist). She has over 13 years of research, teaching and training experience. She is a Specialist Expert in Competency based Management, HRSG, Canada. She is also Certified in Negotiation Research and Teaching from one of the world's best Business Schools - Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA. She is an active participant in conferences & seminars and has papers to her credit and has published in National and International refereed journals of repute. She has also co-authored a book titled “Riding the New Tides: Navigating the Future Through Effective People Management”, published by Emerald Publishing (India) in 2017. She also has to her credit book-chapters in the books published by Emerald Publishing (India), Bloomsbury Publishing houses. Negotiation Skill, Competency Mapping and Management, Psychometric Research, Intrinsic Motivation, Cultural studies, are her areas of interests. Her research experience and corporate association cover projects with Zydus Cadila Healthcare Ltd., Ahmedabad, Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd, Anand, and Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi. She has designed and conducted MDPs for corporate executives in both public and private sector organizations. She is also Head, Centre for Psychometric Testing & Research (CPTR) at FORE.
