‘Marketing remains the most sought after specialization among management aspirants. The Batch of 2017-19 at FORE School of Management, New Delhi saw a massive 45% students opting for the stream. The placement results proved that it is also a lucrative career option, as the domain garnered the highest placement package of the season - a stunning INR 31 LPA. So, it is not surprising that Marketing internships are much looked forward to at the B-School. From top guns like Reliance Industries to traditional banking giants like Federal Bank, companies from across sectors offered students the opportunity to gain from exposure to the dynamic world of Marketing.
Tanya Gera, PGDM, Batch 2018-20 hit the jackpot as she got the opportunity to intern with Reliance Industries. She realizes the potential of gaining first-hand experience while working with the largest home-gown brand in the country. But it’s not just about the scale of the brand, as Aditya Aggarwal points out. Aditya says, ‘Federal Bank is one of the oldest banks in the country, but it is also the first bank that digitalized all its branches. Federal Bank was able to foresee the importance of digitalization. So, it’s a big plus for me to be involved with such a forward thinking organization.’
It is interesting to note that the interests and goals of these Marketing interns have been aligned with the opportunities they got. Nishit Mittal admits that interning with a top brand like Siemens offers him a foothold in the domains of Marketing and Finance, his other preferred field. Tanya echoes their sentiments: ‘As I intend to specialize in Marketing, the internship opportunity will provide me the right exposure to the domain for the journey ahead. I am thrilled to work with one of the most people-friendly and performance-driven organizations.’
In fact, dipping their feet in corporate waters and getting a sense of the professional environment is a goal for all interns, including those with past work experience. As Marketing interns, they embrace the opportunity to polish their craft in an environment similar to what they can expect in their future career. Nishit feels prepared for the challenging and rewarding experience because of the training he has had at the B-School. He says, ‘The overall exposure has helped me develop key skills and abilities to become a confident individual. I feel ready to prove myself and take a big step towards my career.’
