‘The learning at FORE School of Management has equipped me to handle any hurdle both strategically and efficiently. Today I am confident of achieving anything I set my eyes on. In future, I want to lead a tech company,’ says Navin Sood, PGDM-IB, Class of 2019. He had his eyes set on getting placed with Mahindra Comviva, and he achieved his goal in style. He has been placed with the company in a Business Development (IT) role at a handsome salary package of INR 13 LPA. This could be the beginning of his journey to lead a tech company in future.
Navin had worked with TCS as Assistant System Manager for 1.5 years before enrolling for the program at FORE School of Management. According to him, the program is structured to help students come out of their comfort zone and achieve their true potential. He says, ‘Class discussions, presentations, and assignments encouraged me to look at problems from different perspectives and come up with the best possible solution. It has certainly helped me to unlock my hidden potential through holistic development.’
Navin shares the learning at the B-School has been designed to encourage students to focus on the practical aspect of things and come up with creative and innovative solutions. This is a key highlight of the program. It helps to enhance core skills and gain new competencies. He says, ‘Studying with batch-mates from different backgrounds is an enriching experience. Through assignments, projects, and case studies emphasis is laid on time management as well as teamwork. These are the building blocks of successful managers.’
Ask Navin about the absolute essentials of the program that helped him bag the placement, and he doesn’t hesitate with his reply. He feels the International Immersion Programme is a major factor as it gives that extra edge to students. He says, ‘I also believe my internship with Colgate Palmolive was instrumental in helping me win the placement. Although I had work experience before joining the program, the internship experience was challenging and in tune with where I want to go in my career.’
Navin has definitely taken a giant step towards his career goal of leading a tech company in future. The profile of Business Development (IT) with a top brand will definitely help him achieve his career aspirations. Brimming with energy and enthusiasm, he shares, ‘The learning at FORE has taught me to look at the bigger picture by putting together problems and scenarios that you might otherwise overlook. I intend to use that knowledge at work and add value to all my professional engagements.’
