Business Models are emerging as a strategic paradigm in the field of management. Firms tinkering the business models through a new set of probabilistic configurations yield dividends. Analysis of new-age business models that are light on the asset and strong on networks are changing business ways. In line with these latest developments, this programme sensitizes the students with the entrepreneurial mindset of unraveling opportunities beneath problems to design feasible and sustainable business models.
To introduce ‘Business Model Configuration’ as a strategic tool
To decipher how Business Models are disrupted
To appreciate the domain-specific real-life Business Model Innovations and disruptions
To understand the journey of Business Model creation from ideation to implementation stages
To learn how to anticipate the following trends in New-Age Business Models
Participants would be introduced to key concepts around business model configuration and encouraged to apply them to domain-specific real-life scenarios.
The programme’s flow is designed to guide participants right from the ideation stage (configuration development) to the successful implementation (and mapping) of new business models.
Further, we will discuss various aspects of the business models’ disruptions in recent years by looking at disruptions through the lens of “reconfiguration.”
We will have a group analysis of cases of “ankle-biter” startups and disruptive organizations that altered the business models in their ecosystem.
Towards the end, there will be brainstorming on the need to anticipate new-age business models’ next trends and prepare futuristic templates
The programme will use a mix of lectures, case & situation analysis, exercises, and group work to fulfill its objectives. There will be an initial sensitization around key theoretical concepts around business models. Participants will be learning from cases of ‘ankle-biters’ startups as well as established firms who are altering the business models in their domains. In-class exercises (individually and in groups) to exhibit their comprehension and analysis skills related to the programme discussion and tools. Hands-on application by preparing a feasible business model that goes beyond presently apparent trends into the future and tries to solve a real-world need/pain point of that time.
