Brief description of Experience

Dr. Ashutosh Srivastava is Professor of Practice in the Operations Management and Decision Science Area, bringing 34 years of rich industry experience with a focus on procurement, vendor development, global sourcing, and cost optimization. His current research, "A Study of the Awareness of UNSDG and an Analysis of the Organizational Social Sustainability Measures on Supply Chain Performance," aligns with his deep interest in sustainability. Before joining academia, Dr. Srivastava was Senior Vice President – Materials at Munjal Showa Ltd. (Hero Group), where he spearheaded strategic procurement initiatives, supplier partnerships, cost reduction programs, and digital transformation projects. Earlier in his career, he held significant roles at Eicher Tractors, Belliss India Ltd. (Rolls Royce Associate), and Rampur Distillery, developing extensive expertise in value engineering, contract management, and supply chain process improvements. He holds a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering, a Postgraduate Diploma in Materials Management, and a Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management.

In addition to his extensive corporate background, he has over two years of teaching experience, currently serving as a Visiting Professor at TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi, and JIMS, Rohini, Delhi. He shares his knowledge with MBA and MASDP students, teaching subjects such as Global Supply Chain Management, Global Business Environment, International Trade and Logistics Management, Operations Management, Sustainable Development Practices, MIS and Project Management. Beyond the classroom, he actively mentors’ students, delivers guest lectures, and engages in academic discussions on current supply chain challenges.

Dr. Srivastava's research is centered on sustainability and sustainable supply chains, with a particular emphasis on sustainable development practices and social sustainability. He is deeply committed to integrating social sustainability into supply chain strategies, aligning business operations with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG). His consulting expertise encompasses strategic procurement, vendor development, cost optimization, digital supply chain transformation, and supply chain process improvements. Dr. Srivastava is dedicated to connecting industry practices with academic progress, promoting innovation and responsible business practices within operations and supply chain management.
