Programme Introduction:
Bombarded with information from all sorts of sources, the digital world contains a plethora of data. Although valuable, this data is useless in its raw form, and needs to be converted into a coherent source of information, and this requires the use of tools such as R.
R is an open source, open access software, that has the ability to facilitate rapid data analysis and visualization. It also has a vast number of available functions and algorithms and packages with applications in finance, which are helpful in implementing various models and predictions. It can also interface to new data sources and other computing environments easily

To familiarize with R and use it for financial data exploration and manipulation.
To solve various real- world quantitative finance problems using R.
To equip managers with an effective analytical tool to analyse and contribute to the financial management of the organization.

Introduction R and its importance in finance.
Data exploration and data visualization with R.
Learning to use real time data from Kaggle and Yahoo Finance for analysis

Prof. Sunita Daniel
Prof. Sunita Daniel , PhD (IIT Kanpur); M.Phil., M.Sc.( University of Madras ) is an Associate Professor at FORE. She has over 21 years of experience in research and teaching. Extremely versatile in her interests, her research has covered a wide range of topics, from abstract algebra to creating algorithms for designing curves during her PhD, even venturing into disease modelling and epidemiology. She has presented various research papers at international conferences held at Dubai, Malaysia, Turkey, China and Zurich, and has also published her research work in reputed international journals and also guided PhD students. Her current area of research includes Big Data Analysis and Financial modelling, and their applications in real world scenarios like finance and prediction of patterns in various fields.
