Programme Introduction:
The business world is increasingly becoming digital and data driven and analytics is playing a key role for businesses to survive, being relevant and competitive. The next generation managers must have the skills to handle the vast amount of data and deriving the strategic value from it. The business world is increasingly deploying and using data driven AI models in all industrial sectors. – in telecom, retail, finance, manufacturing etc. Machine learning and deep learning - two broader areas of AI are driving this revolution and these are thriving on the big data. This course introduces the new class of managers to the foundation of Machine Learning (ML) in a very systematic manner using world’s favourite computing language Python. Some of the models used will be Clustering, Decision Tree and Random Forrest based Classification and Regression, Neural Network based prediction and forecasting. The course is completely hands-on in nature and will be illustrated by solving business problems in retail, bank, operation customer engagement etc. These will help participants develop and deploy agile data-driven processes and innovation.
Programme Objective:
The goal of this course is to make participants learn to use and understand various machine learning models in a systematic manner using Python to solve variety of business problems. Specifically, the objectives are:
To introduce the fundamental concepts of Machine Learning and their applications.
Choose a Right ML Model and parameters for a given business problem and processes
Type of data it requires. Whether we can get or generate the data or not.
Streamlining the Business Process, automation and What value it offers.
Teach the participants the skills needed to execute a smallish commercial project.

Introduction to Machine Learning, Data Exploration using Python
Cluster Analysis: K-means and Agglomeration clustering
Linear Models and Regularization Techniques
Classification Analysis: Neural Network
Classification and Regression Analysis: Decision Trees and Random Forrest
Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Feature Extraction

Programme Methodology:
The course uses extensive hands-on using the programming language Python to explore data and will be delivered through lecture, projects & presentation, and assignments. The course first explores the computing environment of using Python in variety of industry supported Open Source environment. The course introduces to data type, manipulation and exploration in a business environment. It will introduce participants to use open-source machine learning libraries Scikit-learn, TensorFlow and Keras to work with variety of dataset. The editing tools used will be ipython and Jupyter Notebook (a GUI for python).

Prof. Lalit Kumar Jiwani, PhD(Digital Signal Processing) IIT Delhi, M.Tech. (Integrated Electronics and Circuits) IIT Delhi and MS (Physics) IIT Kanpur is Professor in the area of Information Technology at the FORE School of Management, New Delhi. He has worked both in prominent academia and industry. He has earned PhD, IIT Delhi (Signal Processing) and M.Tech. (IC) from Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Delhi. He has teaching and research interest in the area of Information Technology and Systems, Digital Commerce, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, NLP, Statistics, Analytics, Visualization, Big Data Analytics and Computational Intelligence. His primary thrust is in the creation and application of Information Technology for Business and Management. He has conducted various MDP’s for executives on the above themes.
He has earlier worked with technology majors Motorola and Moschip Semiconductors. He was an expert panelist at “Higher Education, Skill and Livelihood” Conclave organized by ASSOCHAM in March 2020. He was also invited by technological majors Intel and IBM corporation for faculty development programs. He has also reviewed MHRD’s NPTEL courses. He has presented his work in leading conferences of IEEE and European Signal Processing Society in USA, Canada, Denmark, Singapore and India.
