The program aims at building the basic competencies of Human Resource Management (HRM), which has emerged as a partner to business. Completion of this program, will enable managers to understand the importance and function of HRM in managing business. It will also equip such managers to implement HR systems and practices. Managers will also get familiar with legal aspects of HRM and a basic proficiency in working out the obligations for organization towards employees.
The programme objectives are as follows:
a) To educate managers about the role and importance of HRM as a partner in managing business.
b) To make managers aware of the various HR processes, including legal obligations of employers.

Session 8: Statutory responsibilities of HR laws
The program methodology would comprise of lectures, case studies, and group work. The adopted methodology will create experiential learning for participating managers.
Organizations in the ITES, IT, FMCG, FMCD, and manufacturing sectors would benefit from the most from the program.
The program intends to target first time people managers or managers who have just moved to team lead roles. Managers who are managing profit and loss accounts or are responsible for revenue generation may consider to attend this program.
Prof. Chiradip Bandyopadhyay
Prof. Chiradip Bandyopadhyay is trained in managing technology and human resources. He has been a practicing HR manager in manufacturing as well as services sector firms. He has been with organizations such as the Aditya Birla Group, IBM, Jindal Stainless Ltd, IMRB and lastly as Head HR with Tata Metaliks Ltd. Exposure to diverse business and management contexts, enables him to weave experiences from practice into academic endeavours in terms of teaching and research. He has published papers in national as well as international journals. He teaches courses such as organizational behavior, organizational structure design and theory, human resource management, recruitment & selection and competency based HRM.
Prof. Chandra Sekhar
Prof. Chandra Sekhar has a Ph.D. in the area of Human Resource Management where he studied the relationship between human resource dimensions and firm performance. His research develops insights about the role of mediators such as management innovation, employee stock options, and HR flexibility in the relationship between HR dimensions and firm performance. He has published his work in international Journals and conferences of repute and doctoral consortium - COSMAR (IISc Bangalore), Society of Operation Management conference, Indian Academy of Management Conference, to name a few. He has attended many academic writings workshop, MHRD Sponsored QIP short-term course, faculty development programme (FDP) and management development program at institutes of national repute ranging from IIM Ahmedabad, IIT Kharagpur, ABV-IIITM Gwalior to name a few. Dr. Chandra Sekhar has received ‘University Gold Medal’ in academics for his outstanding performance at graduation level. Additionally, he is a recipient of awards such as ‘Best Management Article Award’ at IBS Hyderabad, and the ‘Best Poster Presentation Award’ at ABV-IIITM Gwalior.
