Programme Introduction:

Excellence in operations and Supply chain management (SCM) is considered to provide a competitive advantage to the company. Following best practices in designing process, scheduling production, removing bottlenecks and managing inventories is the key to success. Matching supply with demand and designing optimal channel networks are fundamental challenges for the companies. The concept of Supply Chain Management, therefore, evolved out of this necessity to integrate all channel members so that goods and services are produced and distributed in effective and efficient manner.

Programme Objective:

  • To discuss key functional areas in operations critical to the success of the company
  • To discuss strategic and operational issues in designing and managing the supply chain.
  • To enable participants to appreciate the competitive advantage arising out of a supply chain
  • To enable participants to apply analytics as a tool for taking operations and supply chain related decisions

Module 1:Designing and analysis of Process: Bottleneck Analysis
Module 2:Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and Scheduling
Module 3:Planning Demand and Supply in a Supply Chain
Module 4:Planning and Managing Inventories in A Supply Chain
Module 5:Designing and Planning Transportation Networks and Logistics
Module 6:Digital Supply Chain and Channel Coordination

Programme Methodology:

The delivery of this programme will be a mix of lectures, simulation, case discussions, hands- on problem solving sessions.

Manufacturing companies, supply chain, logistics service providing companies

The programme will cater to the needs of mid-career level employees handling activities or holding job roles related to operations, production, Supply chain, logistics services. Employees in the Junior management cadre aspiring to acquire skills and knowledge in this functional domain are also encouraged.

Programme Director:

Prof. Shirsendu Nandi is currently associate professor at FORE School of Management, New Delhi. He holds a Doctoral degree (FPM) from IIM Indore in operations management and Supply chain and a master’s degree in Mathematics and Computing from IIT Kharagpur.
He has worked as a faculty member in the area of operations in Indian Institute of Management Rohtak. He was chairperson of Operations Management area and chairperson for executive education and certificate programmes. He has also taught in various academic programmes at Greatlakes Institute of Management Chennai. He is the recipient of prestigious N.B.H.M (National Board for Higher Mathematics) Scholarship awarded by Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India. He has worked with Wipro Technologies in the area of business intelligence. He has guided PhD students and published in various international journals of repute. He has conducted MDPs on Project Management, Data Analytics, Manufacturing Excellence, Quality Management. His teaching interests include subjects like Quantitative Methods, Business Statistics, Advanced Probability and Stochastic Process, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Advanced Optimization, Managerial Economics etc.
