Programme Introduction:
Qualitative research plays a critical role in exploring complex phenomena, understanding human experiences, and generating rich, in-depth insights that quantitative methods alone cannot capture. It emphasizes context, meaning, and interpretation, making it highly valuable across disciplines such as management, social sciences, education, public policy, and health research. With the increasing demand for research that goes beyond numerical analysis, faculty and researchers must be adept at designing, conducting, and analyzing qualitative studies rigorously.
This Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Qualitative Research Methods is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of qualitative inquiry, including its philosophical foundations, research designs, data collection methods, and analysis techniques. The programme also emphasizes ethical considerations, ensuring research integrity, and strategies for publishing high-quality qualitative research.
Through a combination of interactive lectures, practical exercises, and group activities, participants will learn how to formulate research questions, select appropriate qualitative approaches, collect and analyze data, and present findings effectively. By the end of the FDP, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and practical tools to design and execute robust qualitative research, enhancing the quality of their academic work and contributing to meaningful, evidence-based insights in their respective fields.
