For Kanika Joshi, FORE School of Management, New Delhi, came with an opportunity cost – two years of enhancement of technical skills at her job at TCS. It was a tough call, but after weighing all the pros and cons, Kanika realised that FORE School of Management, New Delhi, would give her critical knowledge in the fields of marketing, finance and HR, to name a few. Kanika chose FORE School of Management, New Delhi. According to her, it was not just because it meant better job opportunities… it was more about becoming a better person.
A Mathematics (Hons.) graduate, Kanika believes that business is pure mathematics when it comes to logic or analysis, but a PGDM from a top-notch B-school like the FORE School of Management, New Delhi, is an alternative route to understanding her full potential and improving her overall personality. She hopes that two-years down the line, when she steps out of FORE School of Management, New Delhi, she would be in a position to pursue a successful career in marketing, working for an organization which is in line with her qualification and experience.
“I’m counting on the famed faculty of FORE School of Management, New Delhi, to equip me with all the firepower that is required for growth in the field of marketing. The exposure gained here will definitely help me in the long run.”
Kanika feels that women not only hold their own, but bring their unique skills-set to the corporate world. They can multitask, and their sensitivities help them understand and perceive situations and people far better. Women managers are willing to share information; they are more compassionate and are far more dedicated towards the organization they serve. All these factors create a positive environment in an organization and help improve efficiency. She hopes to be able to do all these things but as of now, Kanika is looking forward to a phase of ‘pleasant learning’ for the next two years at FORE School of Management, New Delhi.
“Pleasant because, everything that I do - from making presentations to being a member of NEXUS, or CSR activities of ANTAR, to research projects of marketing - gives me the opportunity to enjoy and learn at the same time at the FORE School of Management, ,New Delhi.”
